It wasn't so long ago that if you wanted to read a good solid piece of hate mail you had to wait patiently for another edition of DU's Hate Mailbag. Some imbecile would dash off a half-baked screed about how "conservatives are the smart," breaking through the meth haze just long enough to find the "Send" button on their email program, and we would have a jolly old time publicly mocking their incompetence on our little web page. How we all laughed!

Nowadays of course the promise of that very first HTTP communication implemented by Tim Berners-Lee back in 1989 has been truly fulfilled as anyone with an Internet connection can receive their very own hate mail simply by expressing a mild opinion on Facebook or following Donald Trump on Twitter. What a world.

And yet somehow, hate mail doesn't seem quite so entertaining when it's a death threat from your sister-in-law or a brainfart squeezed out of the President-Elect's smartphone. So sit back and enjoy the comfort and safety of hate mail directed at the DU Admins, who ran out of fucks to give about 15 years ago.
