In reply to the discussion: Militant deserts Malheur, now drinking away donations. In fact many are staying in motels. [View all]pinboy3niner
(53,339 posts)45. He drove out of Malheur and never came back, lol
It caught my attention when I saw this interesting tidbit in a Reuters story...
As the two Reuters reporters arrived just after nightfall, the occupiers were moving into a state of high alert. The groups head of security, a man known as Buddha, had been out of touch since driving off-site hours earlier. Amid efforts to locate him, the Bundys talked at length about what had brought them into this wilderness--and what it would take for them to leave.
...
Before climbing into sleeping bags, the Bundys, bodyguard Kjar and two others sat in a circle discussing the days lessons....
...
Buddha never returned.

As he never returned that night, I looked for later news on him and found Raw Story's confirmation:
Brian Booda Cavalier, an Arizona tattoo artist who served as a bodyguard for the Bundys during the previous standoff, has left the nature preserve after the Daily Mail reported he had been lying about serving as a U.S. Marine in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Some of the militants also suspect Cavalier might be working as a federal informant.

He actually seems to have departed after he was confronted by the Daily Mail reporters about his phony combat Marine BS, but before the DM story was published. I guess he decided to get out of Dodge before it hit the press and his militia buddies saw it.

Considering where Door Buzzards like to start their meals, they'd better watch their backsides

As I've mentioned before, Malheur means "misadventure." They couldn't have chosen better.
