(19,459 posts)188. I can't think of any references to the pyramids either.
I'm pretty sure that the narrative of the Hebrews in ancient Egypt has them located in the eastern delta region, which would be consistent with the reference to Pithom and Raameses if Pithom is meant to indicate either Tell er-Retaba or Tell el-Maskhuta in the Wadi Tumilat, and Raamses with modern day Qantir.
I took a course on Historiography of the Bible as part of a graduate degree in History in college, but it's been years and the specifics are pretty vague at this point.
