Answer: You're in freakin' New York. There's a decent place to eat on every corner. The food carts aren't bad either.
However, I recommend the Beer Garden at Bohemian Hall at 29-19 24th Avenue in Astoria. Great ethnic food of all kinds in Astoria. My bartender used to say the reason the neighborhood is so peaceful is that everyone's in a minority. Irish 2%, Greeks 4%, Egyptians 3% etc. Insane place to look for world cuisine.
Stuck in rural middle America I baked pizza during the speech.
