Romney Campaign Lies Again: "The GM Bailout was Mitt's Idea"
by joelgp
No, you can't make this stuff up. Remember when Romney wrote this in the New York Times: "If General Motors, Ford and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye. It wont go overnight, but its demise will be virtually guaranteed."
Well, Obama gave them the money, restructured the company and they are the strongest car company in the world. So how does an Etcha-a-Sketch so-called business expert "un-say" something that was so obviously wrong?
YOU JUST LIE, and hope no one notices. Thehill.com notices:
Wow!!

"One of Mitt Romney's top advisers said Saturday that President Obama's decision to bailout Chrysler and General Motors was actually Romney's idea.
" Romney's) position on the bailout was exactly what President Obama followed. I know it infuriates them to hear that," Eric Fehrnstrom, senior adviser to the Romney campaign, said.
"The only economic success that President Obama has had is because he followed Mitt Romney's advice."

Romney is either extremely desperate or delusional.
Mitt Romney's bailout problem
by Jed Lewison
Mitt Romney isn't against all bailouts. He's only against some of them. And in fact, he's really only against one in particular:
So when it came to bailing out Wall Street or his own enterprises, Romney was thumbs up. And when it came to taking tens of millions in public subsidies for companies in which he invested, Romney was thumbs up too.

And who knows, maybe the naysayers would finally come around and say that standing by America's workers was the right thing to do. (Applause.) Because, I've got to admit, it's been funny to watch some of these folks completely try to rewrite history now that you're back on your feet. (Applause.) The same folks who said, if we went forward with our plan to rescue Detroit, "you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye." Now they're saying, we were right all along. (Laughter.)
