(13,340 posts)192. Of course not, but they raise it to an art form in some places.
I mean, back in the 90's, a friend and I were driving from Maryland to Florida, and we stopped in SC to visit some old friends of his. I was SHOCKED at how casually they threw around racial slurs in public places, even right in front of black people. They thought nothing of it. And no one around them did either. That's just not a culture I've experienced anywhere else, though no doubt there are pockets of it up north.
