In reply to the discussion: Can we please discuss the shooter Darren Wilson? There is only the allegation [View all]hamsterjill
(15,224 posts)91. Well, I have to disagree.
I'm not telling anyone here what they should or should not be saying. I'm stating my opinion, which seems to be the unpopular side of the argument on this thread.
One might think that on a Democratic message board, all views would be welcome. One might think that on a Democratic message board, the presumption of innocence would be an important thing.
But, ah hell, CNN has told us everything that we need to know. Let's just go ahead and try Officer Wilson in the court of public opinion - because that's the popular thing to do. Let's ruin his life and let's ruin the lives of his family members, and let's act like we know him and know what he is like and what he believes because someone said, heck I don't even remember who it was, but someone said that he'd put some racist remarks on Facebook. So if someone said it...it must be true, right?
Because you know, the whole Ferguson police force is corrupt and there couldn't possibly be some or even one of those police officers that are worth anything right? I mean, why bother with a trial? Everything on the internet is true, after all, isn't it???
And if you don't get my point after the those last two paragraphs of complete sarcasm, then I cannot explain it any further.
Have a good evening.

Exactly. Even if Wilson knew Brown stole the ciigars, it's no reason for him to kill him.

Regardless of why he was being pursued, he was still entitled to a trial, not an execution.

He wasn't pointing a gun at Wilson, but that is very different from why the cop was pursuing him.
