The halls of power--Democratic Underground. When my superiors first handed me my assignment I was skeptical. Democratic Underground? You want me to post pro-government items there and smear the government's opponents on a relatively small website, traffic-wise? Why don't I just post talking points in the comments section of YouTube videos that go viral or put them on comments on the Facebook wall of celebrities?

My superiors assured me that despite DU's rather modest traffic, this site is an opinion maker. Many influencers of liberal opinion post here, and I might be able to move the needle in discrediting people like Glenn Greenwald and Edward Snowden with the American public if I assiduously promote Obama-approved talking points.

I admit, I have at times become side tracked from my mission and allowed things to get personal. After all, I'm only human (or am I)? Those indiscretions are not the reason I'm unmasking today.

I was told by my superiors the program is being shut down now that Greenwald has spilled the beans on our efforts. I will be redeployed to another assignment shortly (probably gaming online polls to get the results we want). Don't laugh. It is important work.

From now on, I will maintain my DU account but only post my true opinions on world events.
