So that's weird. They didn't arrest them, just maced and beat them up a little.

Is that normal, in Russia? Get smacked around by a cop and then nothing? In the US you'd be arrested for assaulting the officer's fist with your eye.


Edit: I AM SORRY. I would delete these posts, but it would probably make it worse. The direction this thread fork took was NOT what I was getting at. The whole thing comes off as disruptive and distracting. That was not my intent. I'm sorry, and I will think things through more on these front-burner issues in the future before I say something. There was, to me, an interesting cultural/social delta between what happened in the video, versus what is familiar and also alien to me as an American, too young to have lived through the main thrust of the Civil Rights movement on race, and I wanted to explore that, and it all went to hell in a handbasket. And when I came back and saw what happened, I got defensive and angry about the direction it took.
