Put the phone down, and go about your business. Leave the phone near a television or radio, so the scammer can hear sounds through the receiver.

You can keep 'em waiting for twenty minutes or more. They aren't screwing over other people when they're "on hold" with you!

I've gotten similar calls, and in my case they originated from Africa, not India. There's probably more than one outfit pulling this con, though.
