It is ironic. Ultimately it's about maintaining privilege. They call certain ideas and practices PC because it challenges their treatment of women and people of color. Then they call simple rape prevention ads "misandry" because it suggests rape isn't exclusively the fault of women. What they really hate is any criticism or challenge of their privilege. Some even wine that men don't have near exclusive province over the labor market anymore.
