(while recalling that I am generalizing, that all generalizations have exceptions, and I claim no special insight into any of the individuals concerned)

I have no knowledge of Shellie at all, beyond her current perjury problems (which no doubt Georgie Porgie pressured her into) and am by no means engaging in armchair diagnosis here, but I have seen a large number of somewhat similar cases, and offer the following generalization:

Very often, the women who are attracted to violent and antisocial personality types have very sad histories. They typically have a rather predictable set of personality traits. They often come from backgrounds in which they had been sexually, emotionally, and/or physically abused, usually beginning at an early age. They will put up with a great deal of abuse from their partners. They are unstable and seem to have poorly-formed personalities. They often have little concept of truth or of truth-telling. They cycle between idealizing their partners and being disgusted and angry with them. They may be prone to suicidal gestures or "parasuicidal" self-injury. They typically have a profound fear of abandonment, and if they feel that they have been abandoned, they may turn on the one who abandoned them and seek revenge with all the tools at their disposal.
