I fought Iraqis in '91 who were sent into a war they didn't agree with. I never hated them, if fact made friends with several over the course of the conflict and aftermath.
We accepted each other and could see we were instruments of our government whether dictatorship or democracy. We also could see you can choose to go or be forced to go, at gunpoint or via draft.
Just a bit of advice, self-righteousness can blind us to our own faults.
