(29 posts)It may sound callous, but to aid the rebels is very short-sighted. Nearly everything we knew about Libya was incorrect, and the involvement had underlying causes which were beneficial in the short-run to American foreign policy. Thus the engagement in Libya was done not to help the Libyans achieve democracy, but in the end to benefit certain globalist powers that be. Not only that, a large part of the population was loyal to Gaddafi because he funded free health care and education, as well as public works.
Just like in Libya, we're hearing that Assad is a brutal dictator, which undoubtedly might have truth to it, but we should remember that the same media which is telling us this, also claimed that Saddam WMD's and was linked to Bin Laden. We should think twice about such unnecessary involvement.
