(1,684 posts)10. I'd disagree with "The passing of a tounge that virtually no one uses anymore isn't all that
significant" because many of these languages the population which spoke it are still around, numerous languages have never recovered from persecution, and continued persecution. I would still value a language that people spoke even if, it offered no knowledge at all. Because peoples languages and cultures have a right to exist. Whether or not any outsider finds value. Its not that uncommon when asking individuals that are now adults of their experiences of the education system in persecuting their mother language.

My middle daughter took four years of latin in high school. Teacher retired and it's gone.
