18. Are you sure about the extinguishing agent?

I'm no expert, but everything that I can turn up in Google says that water is the preferred or only recommended extinguishing agent.

About half of the sites go on to specifically rule out the use of halon, dry chemicals, foam and other smothering agents.

Here's one:

Tackle a major decomposition with copious quantities of water, preferably with high-pressure water jets.

Do not use halon, CO2, dry powder or foam extinguishers, sand or other smothering agents.
