In California at least, we have begun a prison realignment system (as of last year) that will release many nonviolent offenders much earlier than they otherwise would have been.
Also, I'm certainly not "anti-weed". Smoked it for years LOL (I'm from Oakland!)

It will NOT be legal in our lifetime. It is too risky from a political standpoint.

Legalizing Marijuana in and of itself is not pressing to be sure, but that's not really the point.

It seems like legalizing would create tons of jobs in growing, selling, distributing, etc.
