I would definitely counsel you to keep your current job. Especially in light of your recent diagnosis.

Can your brother tend to your mother for the foreseeable future? Can the two of you hire caregivers for her until one of you can stay with her permanently?

Giving up your job should be your very LAST resort, imo. It will be difficult if not impossible to find another.
