(5,756 posts)They must have a pretty crappy life if they have to get their pleasure out of watching grown men violently plow each other down play after play while trying to move a ball up and down a field for a couple of hours. And then there are the fights the fans of opposing teams get into from time to time. Being injured or arrested would seem a pretty miserable outcome of those. Do I really need to spend hours in the cold screaming for a football team or possibly get into a fight over a team to have an non-miserable life? It all just reeks of a whole lot of miserable people trying to find a place to "fit in" so they can be like everyone else and be part of something and feel a little less miserable.
But that's just my opinion.
I like enjoying the beauty of nature, and helping out those less fortunate than me is pretty satisfying and not miserable at all. I feel pretty good after volunteering, like I actually made a difference in people's lives.
