3. Who Cares?

Feb 2013

Yet another orgy of machismo and testosterone that has no real impact on people's lives. If a football team winning or a player scoring a touchdown is the highlight of your day that's too bad.

Why not go for a hike, boating, or skiing and make seeing the beautiful world around us the highlight of your day. Or, maybe take those hours you would spend watching the Superbowl and go volunteer at a food bank, homeless shelter or some other charitable cause. It would be time better spent.

Quite frankly, given Penn State's Sandusky scandal and Steubenville, Ohio's scandal I'm a bit sick of our football culture in this country. And those are just the ones that gained national attention. What of the ones that did not?

And for all of those of you who are about to flame me please do not title your posts something like "So you're calling all football players sex abusers" or "So you're calling the NFL a bunch of rapists." That is not what I said so don't put those words in my mouth.

I thought that game was over already. ScreamingMeemie Feb 2013 #1
