We shot video to promote the mountain, also training videos and video of ski accident scenes. Learned a lot about hot springs, that funky glass box ski lift at June, coyotes and did the best powder skiing of my life.

Spent quite a few hours on 395, listening to cassette tapes -- Big Pine, Lone Pine, Manzanar. Some of the other video crew guys knew all the spots where they shot Westerns along 395. For me, the road always reminds me of "Thelma & Louise" and the motel parking lot scenes from "Wild at Heart."

There was a coyote that would sit right in the middle of mountain on a peak below mid-chalet. She would stare as if meditating, into the distance, motionless as 30,000 Californians skied around her peak. She looked very wise and timeless and we named her "Yoda" (like coy-YOTE).
