9. I'll admit, I'm going out on a limb

Like most who see this picture, I'd like to imagine a really cool dad, who will don a cape in support of his son's fantasy. But I reflect on all the more usual images of adults that impose their goofy beliefs on their kids, like racism and religion. I sure hope that in this situation, the dad really is cool.

But I just don't have enough information to know that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

And, if the kid wears that cape to school, or just in front of his peer group, he's likely to get ridiculed for it, or worse, beaten up, because he thinks he's a "superhero", and that just causes the insecure kids in his age group to think that they have to prove that he's not one. Feel any differently about it now?
