was the gun nut who went on and on and on about guns and being a responsible owner, and teaching his kids gun safety and then shot off his own thumb, promptly fainted, and had to be airlifted to hospital. Afterwards his small son (who witnessed the whole thing) was chiding him, "Dad, you know you aren't supposed to EVER put your hand in front of the barrel. What were you THINKING?"

I'll admit though the show appeals to me - I'd like to be more prepared. I don't think I'll ever have an arsenal of guns (let alone one) or a bunker made of school busses though. Nor will I waste $50,000 on storing food.
