(23,720 posts)It could mean coffee at starbucks for a week. It could be eliminating someones weekly manicure or monthly visits to the gym or a movie night. But for someone making enough money to have 25.00 a week withheld and then claims that they are suffering a serious hardship for it? Nah, I don't buy it.
I'm more inclined to believe that someone making 250.00 a week and missing an additional 7.50 a week would be hurt more. However, someone making 250.00 a week with dependents to support are usually eligible for other government assistance too. My son who makes minimum wage and still lives at home isn't going to miss it. He's only going to lose a run to the fast food restaurant. But he knows he can still get a meal at home. And if my son was paying student loans and driving a new car that he had to make payments on, I'd tell him that he was making foolish decisions with his money.
