Anonymous...just THANK YOU.

You have given many rape victims hope. You have probably stopped the Rape Crew from ever raping again en masse. Individually, there is probably no hope for any of them, but your shining the light on the torture of a school girl in Steubenville has made everyone in that town think twice about what kind of people they are - and what kind of people they need to be.

They are sociopaths who hid this torture, but now the world is watching them like hawks. And now the schoolgirls in that town know that someone cares. NO ONE in Steubenville seemed to give much of a damn except one blogger ,but you can bet, thanks to you guys, EVERYONE in that town cares now, even if they are the scumsuckers who hurt this child or let her be hurt.

As a female, I am sick to death of girls and women being treated like nothing, like they don't matter. This girl matters to me. Her pain matters to me. The horror she went through matters to me. Others might dismiss it as a "so what?" I can't do that.

I know about that horror because her attackers showed us who they are. THEY did that. I didn't have to assume anything.

And I know that this young woman needs support, because the defense is going to attack her unmercifully. As if her gang rape weren't already enough. They are going to call this 16-year-old child a slut, a whore, say she was asking for it, find people to lie about her, attack her parents, her grades, her clothes, her friends. This is why rape goes unreported, and why she and her family backed down when the fucked up sick perverted prosecutor cajoled and betrayed this young woman - to protect the prosecutor's precious little rapist son.

In a just world, this would never happen. Second best would be for her attackers and their enablers to stand up and take their punishment. They and their town refused to do the right thing, so they got exposed by you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Anonymous, for treating this girl's life as important, for caring so much about a human being others treated like trash.

Thank you, and to the girl herself, I am sorry they will see nothing better to do than attack you. You are 16. You should not have to be dealing with this crap because THE RAPE CREW and the SHERIFF in that town and the COACHES in that school and the PROSECUTOR who let her home be used as a place of your torture made really bad choices. Because they used you like you weren't even another person. I am so sorry.

Jane Doe, I hope you can stay strong as they continue to rape you for their own benefit.

You matter. You are not at fault. You DID NOT DESERVE THIS.
