In reply to the discussion: The Who are awesome at the Sandy concert [View all]wilt the stilt
(4,528 posts)67. I'll challenge you on that
saw them before Tommy at the Fillmore east and Tommy 3 times plus I think a total of 7 times including the "74 tour. I sent my kids on 11/5 to go see them.. They loved them. In the past year I took my kids to see Clapton, Beck and the Allman's.
I saw Bruce at Red Rocks in '80 and I walked away as think it was false spontaneity. That is was all practiced and rehearsed. I thought jumping on the piano was bullshit. I never felt that about the Who or any of the other bands I mentioned.
I saw everyone including Joplin.

Most towns have karaoke impersonators who can do Daltrey better than Daltrey can now.

Still, they are the real deal. And I am impressed they do as well as they do now

Actually, outside of this thread, most people I've noted seem to be turning it off.

I have a feeling this is the last time we're going to see all the British classic

Well, the Stones went on a farewell tour in 1981. The Who did the same in 1982.

Yes of course and I fully enjoyed it, as did a lot of far younger people, I would bet

Actually, it's pretty bad outside of Springsteen and Waters and many of their fans are hurting.

ITA! I've enjoyed the whole concert but the Who - especially Roger Daltrey - are killing me.
