5. GOP is cornering Obama into nominating Rice because they don't WANT Kerry as SoS.

They have the narrative rigged already, and one senate seat is NOT their goal, at all. With Rice, they get the luxury of retaining a Hillary Clinton style hawk as head of State.

They know this - a shame that most media on the left can never seem to figure out when and why Republicans choose to goad.

And I say this as someone who prefers Kerry stay in his position as head of Senate's Foreign Policy.
