McCarthy also said "it will be hard not to hit" Speaker Pelosi with the gavel when he retakes it. In this instance of the attack planned on Pelosi the hammer represents the gavel, justice, etc. to the attacker.
Also, he didn't expect the little baby-eating radical leftist leader to be able to fend him off as he bashed in her brains.
