I was thinking about asking him to keep me informed of the political winds in Florida, and I think he probably will do this. I think he might quietly be thinking of voting Democratic, even though he is a longstanding Republican, because he had a serious illness lately and his health insurance is extremely expensive. He pays for himself since he was self-employed and is now retired.

I have explained to him that if the Republicans get into office and the Ryan Plan is implemented, people with health problems will experience the return of the lifetime cap on what companies will pay and that he is now protected by the ACA, which repealed those limits. He understands that as a well-to-do person the stipend he is given under the voucherized Medicare Plan will not take him very far in covering his health issues and that as a well-to-do person, his voucher will be lower than average. I think this truly bothers him.

So thank you for responding and for participating on my thread.

Sam
