Deminpenn's JournalEven Republicans like clean water
Trump won Beaver borough handily, but even those residents want clean water.

That chemical, an industrial solvent called trichloroethylene or TCE, was first found in 1988 in test wells about 1,500 feet from Vanports drinking supply. The incident prompted a boil water advisory that lasted more than 20 months, and routine testing in the area has been in place since.
This isnt just a Vanport issue, he said.
Toomey can't move his office locations fast enough
I'm sure this has been in the works for awhile, but the timing couldn't look worse for Toomey. He just moved his Pgh office from the south side to the federal building on Grant Street and now he's moving his Philly office to the federally-owned Customs House. All this in the midst of the "Tuesdays with Toomey" protestors showing up every Tuesday.
Sort of like whack-a-mole!

Rothfus sighting!
At the townhall tonight, one of the attendees stood up and announced Rothfus would be speaking at a church or christian group on Friday 2/25 near Murraysville and Delmont on Rt 22, iirc. I'm not on social media, so perhaps someone who is can find out more details. As I understand it, Rothfus is the featured speaker and the event is open to the public.
Now we know why Flynn didn't care if his call was taped

Denies having directed Mike Flynn to discuss sanctions with the Russian ambassador but it certainly would have been okay with me and I would have directed him to do it if I thought he wasnt doing it.
Beaver County elects new head of Dem Party
Stephen Dupree was elected the new head of the Democratic Party here. He's looking to fill 52 vacant committee seats in the county with young members.

"I think the party needed a reformation," Dupree said Wednesday. "It needed to get back to its identity of being the workingman's party and not just a party that cared about social issues. Obviously, I care about social issues, but that's not our sole focus."
He said he hopes to reinvigorate the party with an infusion of young members, he said.
There are 52 vacant committee seats in the county, and he'd like to see those filled with younger members who can then tap into the experience of the party's older hands, he said.
"I see us working together to build a better Democratic Party," Dupree said.

Westmoreland County is Trump country in spades, so it's good to see even folks there are protesting and gaining numbers.
