Max Martin's Description of His Republican Oponents for the Texas 36th District, 2012

The following are the nine confirmed Republican candidates for the position of U. S. House of Representatives, for the Texas 36th district, 2012. The common thread is they all seem to want to do away with the best government in the world, allow the financial institutions to do whatever they want and eliminate protections for our air and water quality.

Mike Jackson - Mr. Jackson is in my opinion going to win the Republican primary and face me in the November, 2012 general election. He is currently a seated Texas Senator and well connected long-term Republican politician. The following is his front page statement from the website mikejacksonforcongress.com.

“ Our nation, our economy, and the future of our children have suffered greatly under the misguided and damaging policies of Barack Obama. As a small business owner and limited government conservative, I know our area deserves a Representative who will fight Obama’s massive spending, massive debt, and excessive regulation.”

Mike is correct about the first thing. Our nation, our economy and the future of our children have suffered greatly. However, his blaming it on the damaging policies of Barack Obama is totally incorrect. At the end of the George W. Bush administration, the Dow Jones average dropped from $14,164.00 to $6,547.00, US jobs were being eliminated at a rate of 750,000 per month, the majority of the auto industry was on the verge of failure, the bulk of the US banking system was facing failure and the economy of the world was at risk. Then came President Barack Obama. I would like to repeat that, “Then came President Barack Obama”. Hello Mike, do you understand what I just said? There’s no way you can challenge this statement, because it’s the TRUTH!

From the time President Obama was sworn in, the powerful far right wing factions of the current Republican Party have bombarded this president with negative propaganda, by means of its highly organized anti-Democratic media machines, Fox News and AM talk radio. During the early stages, they admitted what had happened was the Bush Administration had drifted away from its conservative values. Later on, they shifted the blame to President Obama; telling us that after a couple of years the current administration must take responsibility. What they don’t consider is the total obstruction created by the Republicans in Congress, filibustering everything Barack Obama has tried to do.

Mr. Jackson wants to be your Representative to fight Osama’s “massive spending, massive debt and excessive regulation.”. What massive spending? Do you mean the eleven year Afghanistan war? No, that was George Bush. Do you the $1 trillion Iraq war, No, that was George Bush. Do you mean the un-funded prescription drug bill? No, that was George Bush. Do you mean the financial industry bailout? No, that was George Bush. Do you mean the $1 billion nuclear powered aircraft carrier he named after his father? No, that George Bush. Do you mean the $1 billion U.S. Embassy in Iraq? No, that was George Bush. Do you mean $1 billion Embassy in Islamabad? No, that was George Bush. How about the proposed $1 billion Embassy for the UK. No, that was also George Bush. I know, it was the $750 billion stimulus package that stopped the nationwide private sector job losses, bailed out the States, preventing further job purging in the public sector and the reduction of the payroll tax rate for all Americans. I don’t call that massive spending, I call that picking up after the mess.

Mike further tries to place the debt of the nation on the back of Barack Obama. You know, the debt of WWII, the Vietnam War, the failed policy of “Trickle Down Economics” and the national debt that in 2000 was $6 trillion and increased to $12 trillion by 2009. What did Barack Obama have to do with that? You can believe Mike Jackson and his twisted statements, or you can believe the “TRUTH”. It’s up to you.

Further, the only regulations that have been passed the last three years were to prevent a re-occurrence of the financial collapse of 2008, regulations to prevent offshore oil disasters, like the one we had in the gulf and air quality regulations for the energy industry. You know, to keep our air and water clean and safe. Come on Mike, your policies are so 2009. We all know what you really want to do is eliminate taxes for the 1%, turn the skies brown while you refine your monopolized petroleum products and turn the rest of this country into a minimum wage society.



Jim Engstrand - Jim doesn’t stand a chance to win the Republican primary. His position of “Bringing jobs Back to East Texas and Gulf Coast Regions” is totally unfounded. The statement that “President’s decision to end the NASA program” is totally incorrect. The only threat to the NASA budget is the Obstructionist’s unwillingness to require the 1% to pay their fare share of the national taxes and reduce the size of the government until they can drown it in the bathtub. That means the NASA budget too!

Jim is right about one thing, “The time has come, fellow Texans, to elect bold, moral, ethical constitutional conservatives who will call a lie a lie regardless of the person or party telling it.” To Jim Engstrand and his New Libertarian based Republican Party, you lie!


Jim Neidner - If Jim is going to make any impact on a run for Congress in the 36th, he had better get with it. The only thing I found on the web for him was a run for the 18th.
