It was decidedly disappointing.
Barack Obama was painted as the knock-about, reefer toking, slum rat with an ego better suited to someone more, shall we say, traditional.
Mitt Romney was painted as the golden child who struggled to overcome the horrible depredations of privilege and wealth.
Barack Obama was, apparently, unable to actually do anything for the poor, so he decided to become politically famous instead. Small wonder he has been soooo disappointing, seeing as how he probably inherited the inclination to dysfunction.
Mitt Romney, on the other hand, has been compelled by an insensitive and unenlightened populace to bury his true religious self that is actually honed to a compassionate perfection which has been successfully hidden his whole life.
Romney is King of Turnarounds, magnificently successful at amassing fortunes for himself and his investors, but mostly for himself. This talent brought him to rescue the Olympics with the help of cash infusions from wealthy friends. There was no mention of the millions of taxpayer dollars that went into that rescue.
Obama is a naif, unable to deal with Washington. The people were right to bring the Tea Party backlash against him, replete with racism and birtherism. There is no mention whatsoever of the stated intention, on the part of the Republican party, to block his every effort without regard to the devastating consequences to the nation. It's all Obama's fault that nothing gets through Congress.
Romney is Godly and believes in his destiny to lead America. Obama is -- whatever -- and believes in his destiny to lead America.
If this is what PBS has become, Big Bird is already on his deathbed.

Shoe fly
Remember the quy who threw his shoes at President Bush?
Well, Mitt Romney just threw a bushel of flip flops at President Obama.
Just sayin'.

Mitt the father
A friend shared this post-debate observation:
"Romney made a statement at the beginning of the debate that he has five sons and he was very familiar with the essential theory of talk loud, long and repeat until someone believes you, no matter what the truth may be-and then he proceeded to show exactly where his sons learned that behavior!"
Spot on. And ugh.
