MSNBC, GE and Phil Donohue -

At the time, Phil Donohue wasn't on my radar, so the information that he was MSNBC's # 1 host and was fired for opposing the invasion of Iraq is news to me.

If he was fired because the parent company, GE supported the war due to defense contracts, were any laws or regulations violated? Would this be protected as corporate free speech? Is GE/MSNBC more or less guilty than Fox?

My DIL just saw a deer with a fawn outside her house near

Buffalo, NY. I'm not sure how large the fawn was, but isn't this the wrong time of year to be seeing fawns? I would think last year's fawns are grown, and this year's aren't due until April?

About Lew and his $56,000 Cayman Island investment -

Do we want someone who invests $56,000 without knowing where it is going handling our money? Either he is very stupid, very trusting or has waaaaay too much money.

On a more serious note, I wish he'd had the guts to say something like this:

"Of course I invested in the Caymen Islands! Given our current tax code, that's the most prudent thing to do!"

With regards to his bonus while the bank was falling down around him:

"Of course I took the money! I was a banker, not a hermit! "

What is "working class"?

I imagine that everyone who has to get up to be at work by 8 considers themselves to be working class. But then, there's working class and there's working class:

Looking at the photos, that house might at one time been within the reach of an engineer, small town lawyer, manager, etc. But it is certainly not within reach of most people out there working today. The problem is that Marc Rubio and many like him think that all working class people live like they do. Anyone who needs government help must therefore be milking the system.
