You may think that I don't know what you're up to, but I know...

"Robocop" William Melendez found GUILTY 2 of 3 counts against him in assault on Inkster man

This just happened.

Bad news from my friend, Miranda…

She's seen Uranus… Which is ironic, because she's been known to do a bit of mooning herself.

"Not the 72 virgins they were expecting."

My advice to all the other GOPer candidates who are demanding equal time on SNL…

Courtesy of Gene Kelly…

I have no idea how Isis could harm Washington DC more than Congressional Republicans have…

You guys in DC know exactly what I'm talking about.

And GOPers in general never hesitate to fuck over America every chance they get:

You know what we call it when Daesh threatens to attack DC? Tuesday.

Listening to Republican governors (like GOP Presidential wannabee Chris Christie) beating up on refugees makes me sick. I would like to say I tried to look at this from the GOP viewpoint, but that would be a lie. I can’t get my head that far up my own ass. This cowardly lion likes to think he’s tough, but he isn’t fooling anyone. The only way Tweedlee Dee Dumb is a threat is if you’re five years old, value common sense, or stuck in the seat next to him on the train.

When did we turn into a nation of pussies? Before anybody gets their panties in a bunch about sexist terminology (and completely misses the fucking point) how about I just call these governors dicks, instead? Either way, I didn’t get the memo.

I’m sorry if that offends you. You know what offends me? People who panic and go after the weakest among us in their hysterical overreaction to a threat. You know what else offends me? People who do more damage to themselves than the terrorists could ever hope to do in a month of Sundays. You know what else offends me? People who betray our heritage by scorning refugees fleeing from the same animals who terrorized them in their own country.

Not to put too fine a point on this, but did you know one of the newly appointed ministers to the Canadian cabinet, Maryam Monsef, arrived in Canada as a refugee from Afghanistan? So much for the great refugee threat, eh?

After Paris, right-wing media launches new war on reason, reality

When I dared ask conservatives to tone down violent rhetoric after Paris, they responded with death threats
Chauncey DeVega

Last Friday, I wrote this Salon essay about the barbaric terrorist attacks on Paris, France. I made a very basic and clear argument: Terrorism is a form of political violence that kills and injures people. For decades, America’s right-wing media and other opinion leaders have routinely used violent language—including the word “terrorist”—to describe liberals, Democrats, progressives and others with whom they disagree.

In recent weeks and months, Fox News, as well as Republican candidates such as Ben Carson and Chris Christie, have used violent and eliminationist language to talk about Black Lives Matter and the student activists at Yale and Missouri. Both groups are working to create a more just and fair United States that treats people of color with dignity, and respects their full and equal human rights. Neither Black Lives Matter nor the student activists at Yale and Missouri are “terrorists.” They are not killing people. They have not strapped explosives to their bodies. They have not used assault rifles to shoot people.

I concluded with the following basic suggestion. In the face of real terrorism in the streets of Paris and elsewhere, with broken and bloodied bodies, families in mourning, and a country in a state of emotional and psychic shock, perhaps America’s right-wing media, and conservatives en masse, should seriously reconsider their casual use of violent rhetoric.

The right-wing media and its supplicants responded with apoplectic rage.

Time once Again for the "Does Cilantro taste like soap to you?" Poll

Here's the result from almost three years ago: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018280030

Does Cilantro taste like soap to you? Let's do it again!

To me, STILL yes… Now I know why. Ugh! It's in my genes. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/20/cilantro-aversion-gene-study_n_1901124.html

The Devil Weed!

If you have Showtime, I suggest that you give the new Marlon Brando doc a look-see

http://www.listentomemarlon.com

It's basically Brando talking about his life in his own words. The parts I liked were when he talked about turning his back on Hollywood in order to dive into the deep end of the Civil Rights pool, for both African-Americans and Native Americans.

He didn't mince his words. No bullshit and whitesplaining, about the way that oppressed peoples fought their own oppression.

Check it out on Hulu if you can't watch it on Showtime.

Great stuff indeed. He was one of the great ones.

Somebody pinch me!

Oh my stars and garters!
