supporting Biden. We're going to need every vote we can get. Their best strategy is to find a different GOPer to nominate for President. They might end up doing that if Trump's criminal cases show them the writing on the wall. I hope they stick with Trump. The Democrats can make him go berserk if they continually release more and more damning facts about him, a little at a time. I'm sure there's plenty of shit to drive him insane, or more insane than usual.

As if facing criminal trials in four jurisdictions wasn't more than enough! I just started listening to Liz Cheney's book in my car and just what went on before January 6th makes my blood run cold. He was told over and over that he lost and the campaign was over - by fellow Republicans, retired Defense Secretaries, and by the several organizations he hired to investigate the election. So he certainly knew, but his reaction was to double down with his public statements that the election was "rigged" and that he "won by a landslide!"

Not to mention, who in their right mind would vote for a candidate who attempted to overthrow the government he's running to lead?? He deserves prison if anyone does. Meanwhile, he continues to attack anyone who has attempted to hold him accountable for his crimes, putting them in danger from his deluded and violent "followers." I can't wait for this to be over, back in 2016 I couldn't wait for the election to be over so we'd never have to see or hear from him again - but instead this has gone on for years...

I'll have to get it. I'm a little surprised that more of the people on the 1/6 Committee didn't write books as well. Liz has been determined more than anyone else to get this information public. Her book probably just scratches the surface of the testimony given to the committee. I hope everyone reads her book!

And she goes into details and names names. She even includes recordings of speeches made by people like Mitch McConnell condemning the attack on the Capitol, and then names those who went on to refer it as a "normal tourist visit" after they had barricaded doors in a panic. And then there were those who played both sides - Kevin McCarthy - spoke out against TFG's lies to colleagues while secretly colluding with TFG. And those who made public statements repeating the election lies to the press - MTG - even though she hadn't even been sworn in yet.

I definitely recommend the book - or the audio book which I have. It's very informative, full of details, and unfortunately scary as hell.

5. Biden White House pushes back in response to Trump 'Gestapo' talk

Donald Trump’s weird whining about the White House resembling the "Gestapo" isn’t just factually wrong and morally offensive, it’s also deeply ironic.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/biden-white-house-pushes-back-response-trump-gestapo-talk-rcna150840

When Donald Trump is confronted with news he does not like, he has an unfortunate habit of referencing Nazi Germany. In January 2017, for example, shortly before the Republican was inaugurated, he accused U.S. intelligence agencies of leaking information that made him look bad. “Are we living in Nazi Germany?” Trump asked at the time — as if leaks from intelligence agencies were a significant problem with Hitler’s regime.....

Over the weekend, the former president added to the list. NBC News reported:

Donald Trump compared President Joe Biden’s administration to the secret police force of Nazi Germany in remarks at a private, closed-door donor retreat on Saturday afternoon. ... “These people are running a Gestapo administration,” Trump said, according to audio of the luncheon provided to NBC News.

President Joe Biden’s team was not impressed.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said the Democratic incumbent is focused on bringing Americans together, “instead of echoing the appalling rhetoric of fascists, lunching with Neo Nazis, and fanning debunked conspiracy theories that have cost brave police officer their lives.”.....

But as a political matter, if the Republican really wants to have a debate along these lines, he might not like where it ends up. The presumptive GOP nominee, after all, has spent recent months echoing Hitler while lashing out at immigrants, complaining that immigration is “poisoning the blood of our country” and describing migrants as “vermin.”

He’s also the candidate who continues to raise the prospect of building new detention camps, creating a temporary “dictatorship,” cracking down on the free press.
