Judge Merchan 'hoping' threat of potential jail time or fines will keep Trump 'in line': Rubin - MSNBC Reports

Judge Merchan is moving quickly in the jury selection for former President Trump's hush money trial and questioned potential jurors on their social media accounts. Merchan also admonished Trump for saying something "audibly" in the direction of a juror. Our panel provides more legal analysis. - Aired on 04/17/2024.

Reminds me of the morning after Hurricane Katrina. We were staying with three other families in a very safe location in South Mississippi. Rough night and early morning. But it was great to eventually get outside. Trees down, standing water, puddles. A four year old son of one of my wife’s coworkers was wound up. His Daddy said Bobby stay out of the puddles, right before Bobby pounced on as many as he could find with both feet. Judge Merchan is dealing with a juvenile.

I served on half a dozen court martials. Impartiality is not that difficult if you are honest with yourself. Presume innocence, listen intently and make your decision.

We had Hurricane Irene up here in New York/Vermont and that was bad enough, mass flooding. widespread damage, power outages and I know someone personally who died. But Katrina was many times worse.

And I have high hopes for this jury.

Far enough north of the gulf, sustained minor damage to our home and State Farm had a check in three days. Wouldn’t want to do it again.

And people talk about Hurricane Sandy here in the Northeast, but we only got rain. It was Hurricane Irene that did the damage, I visited friends in Vermont soon after that, roads were washed out and Lake Champlain rose so high that it washed away camps and cottages on the shore.
