The Clinton campaign is a farce

---------

The biggest problems in political campaigns used to be broken promises or a stretching the truth.

The Clinton campaign has set new lows in political campaigning. Their campaign is a multi-dimensional, house-of-cards built on a foundation of lies and hot air.

The corporate media touts her inevitability while hiding Bernie. The debate schedule is a joke. The DNC is not impartial. The campaign purchases Facebook and Twitter followers. Her union endorsements are from the top brass, not the union members. She reportedly hires shills to demean and mock Sanders supporters online. The majority of polls are rigged and exclude younger voters.

And on and on and on and on.

A couple of days ago on DU, a post was started that featured two pictures of Hillary people canvassing in Iowa. Obviously, this OP was designed to tout Hillary's Iowa's grass-roots support. The pics came from Twitter (with names included). A quick check on Twitter/Facebook showed that these two "volunteers" were paid Hillary staffers who live on the East Coast. They weren't even from Iowa. I'm sure these paid staffers were working hard and I'm sure that they are fine people. My concern is that even a simple post on a messageboard is not what it appears.

It's alarming when campaign institutions are corrupt (the media, polls, union endorsements, the DNC), and it's also irritating when even the smallest of details in this campaign seems to carry a tinge of dishonesty.

I believe that the primary states--starting with Iowa and New Hampshire--will fall for Bernie, one by one. Because hot air doesn't vote. Fake Facebook followers and Twitter users don't caucus. Real people who see through this nonsense do vote, and so do union members who feel that their top brass sold them out. Those two canvassers aren't eligible to caucus in Iowa.

I want Bernie to win because he is a good, decent and honest man--and his policies are crucial if our democracy is to survive. However, I also think it's important that she lose each state handily, to send a message that her farcical, dishonest campaign tactics are unacceptable, offensive and repulsive.

On Tue Dec 22, 2015, 08:59 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

The Clinton campaign is a farce
http://www.democraticunderground.com/128089124

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

This post was already hidden once. This is completely inappropriate for DU.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Dec 22, 2015, 09:04 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The truth sometimes hurts. There is evidence that she buys followers. Many do. If they were said to be Iowans working there and they weren't, then the poster is right. Opinions are opinions. You don't have to like them but they are allowed including this one which is an opinion offered based on an observation. Alerting on posts you disagree with and nothing more should be a banning offense here. This is ridiculous.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: shouldn't have been hidden the first time.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's a comparison of two campaigns, using examples, and prefers one of the campaigns. Nothing hurtful, over-the-top, off-color or inappropriate.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Hate-filled, over the top trash. This cowardly anti-Hillary diatribe is posted in the Bernie Group to avoid Hillary supporters posting their objections. Disgusting.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Now we have to hide the same posts twice? Really? Please hide this.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

asking a simple question and i served on that jury. I was not aware of how alerts work pure and simple so my question was informational. I would have alerted on a HRC group post recently comparing us to psychos if we support bernie if I had thought we could, it was that offensive. Be aware that this thread is being discussed there now. They said there is no difference between Trump and bernie supporters. Gawd. Victims everywhere.

Why was this post considered inappropriate and disruptive? Why can't people express how they're feelings or opinions here? What about free speech?
If you don't like the post don't read it.
Yesterday I received a "Hillary" E-mail thanking me for being part of her team! Ironically, I never signed up to be part of her team anywhere! I unsubscribed her right away and ended my DNC membership a long time ago!
Its obvious that Hillary's campaign is corporate & Wall Street owned, and the democrat neo-libs are running scared.

supporters are incredibly thin skinned. Hillary herself would no doubt tell some of these people to grow a pair. Alerting on a post in the Bernie group that calls out the DNC and some questionable actions by the Hillary campaign and lauds Bernie as being "good, decent, and honest" is just stupid. DUers in Hilary's corner should be expounding on her positives rather than wasting time stalking the Bernie group looking for posts to alert on.

Has she dipped into the pool of bad campaigning? Yes, but she does not swim in that pool...for the most part her campaigning is just like anyone elses (excluding Sanders, of course...he is exemplary). This thread is nothing but hyperbole and bad reasons for posting it.

I have to admit I'm ashamed to see an OP like this in the Sander's group.

..."this post is truthful and insightful and informative?" My gawd, do HRC supporters believe in the slightest bit of corruption of a "democratic" politician? That even if they have a "D" by their name they are under the microscope for any form of prior corruption/wrong doings? Or is there a club of some kind where people join to vote against their own self interest?

Amazing.

my original post.

I was surprised when it was hidden. My first hide! I have always tried to be fair when I am on juries, and I have been served often. Even if a post includes heinous remarks about Bernie, I allow the post. I have said numerous times on juries, that this is a message board. People post opinions here. That doesn't mean that everyone will agree with those opinions.

I have hidden posts for over-the-top vulgarity of when someone insults another DUer.

I'm a bit mystified that someone could have a post hidden, simply because a majority of DUers disagree with the poster's opinion(s).

Again, thank you Flying Squirrel for reposting my OP.

I will continue to be fair on juries and will never hide a post simply because I disagree with it.
