Got a first-hand look at the @BernieSanders phenomenon today @UChiPolitics. 2,000 in hall. 500 in overflow. And 2500 couldn't get in.
@BernieSanders packs them in @UChiPolitics, filling Rockefeller Chapel at UChicago, from where he graduated in '64.

(6,994 posts)Bernie Sanders was like a last minute prom date. Have fun for a while but it will be over soon and the evening will be over and he will go home.....Something very similar to that. This was right after the networks probably sent out the Memo to make sure Sanders did not get anymore air time.

(5,400 posts)Is that how he saw the dating pool of young women when he was younger?
Edit: He might have had more than one appearance where he referenced Sanders in that manner but I googled and found this.
"I think people have will have a fling with Bernie. Bernie is like a great fun date because you know he's not going to be around town too long and I think you're going to see people flirt with that. But at the end of the day, I think she's going be the nominee."

(18,791 posts)I watched the live feed and wondered about the numbers.
So Axelrod was very nice and cordial...am I not supposed to care for him?
It seems that he did a smart campaign for Obama...has he expressed support for anyone, like a Hill?

.that Axelrod framed his observation in such a positive, energized way. Interesting.
Can't wait to attend a rally myself.

(6,699 posts)I always take a close look at the people at ALL the events. These folks look like the type of people I would be comfortable being around. Just wholesome, good people. "A picture is worth a thousand words". Look behind trump or fiorina or cruz...or some of the other ding bats on the gop stooge...I mean stage. What a complete and utter difference.
I look at the crowds too...closely.

(7,413 posts)I wonder what Axelrod thinks, privately, observing the Bernie phenom up close, comparing it to the HRC campaign.

(18,791 posts)It sounded like the crowd was enthusiastic...the Q & A afterwords was interesting.

(841 posts). . . a couple of months ago, Axelrod publically attacked Bernie with insults as a Clinton supporter. (Senator Claire McCaskill did the same thing at about the same time.) So I am surprised how positive he was now in his comments. Is he changing his mind?

(17,997 posts)Bernie made his first appearance in Chicago, about a mile from my apartment.
Now he's showing up again. But nothing here.
I'm going to meet this man if it's the last thing I do!
