Related: About this forumBernie Sanders celebrates Iowa caucus victory with David Bowie’s “Starman”
Last nights Iowa caucus will go down as a victory for the Bernie Sanders campaign, with the plucky senator from Vermont finishing in a virtual tie with fellow Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. With the results still trickling in, Sanders appeared at a rally in Des Moines to thank his supporters and reiterate his campaign promises. He then left the stage to the sounds of David Bowies Starman, a song that PBS reports has become a staple of his stump speeches in recent days.
Sanders appeal among millennials has more to do with his progressive politics than his musical proclivities, but theres no denying that the senator has struck a chord with music fans lately. Ahead of Tuesdays caucus, Sanders held a campaign rally that featured performances from Vampire Weekend and Foster the People. Other prominent musicians who have lent their support to the campaign include Jeff Tweedy, Killer Mike, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who will host a Feel the Bern benefit concert at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on February 5.

My son was so psyched when he heard RHCP, his all-time favorite band, were doing a fundraiser concert for Bernie . Then bummed when it was in LA.
Bernie has some of the BEST supporters. All really good, caring and generous people.
