Hello, I'm new here

My name is Linda but I go by gwheezie {one of the young fellas who is a regular patient where I work said to me one day, grammawheezie when are they going to make you retire and I said when you stop smoking crack, so from then on my name here has been grammawheezie}. I'm in my 60's, live in where the hell am i, virginny and female. I've been a liberal since I 1st heard of my political hero Shirley Chisholm back in the day. I am probably fairly centrist however passionately believe that left needs to keep pushing some of us old farts back to our roots. I hope I contribute something worthwhile to any discussions here.

Very moving.

I always thought I'd "end up" in Virgina, but stopped on the way there.

Glad to meet you. So sorry for the loss of your husband last summer. Frightening in its suddenness. Inspires me to show more compassion and empathy to those I love. Never let a day pass without showering the people you love with love, in the words of James Taylor.

Take care and safe travels.

My mother & family were from Richmond, but we've spread out & traveled all over. There's likely a 'VA Group' on the Home Page left side in the list of Places.

I'm sure I'll figure out how this site works but right now I'm simply confused.
In any case, I'm in FL where we've taken the radical from VA and turned them into our legislators. Yikes.
I agree that we have to rediscover liberalism -- what it means and why it's a very good thing. The rise of the radical right should scare all of us. Unfortunately, too many people have no idea who these people are, what they plan for America, and why they are so dangerous. I'm sure we'll have plenty to share.

Hello.

My name is ShariK. I set up an account in 2004 but never did anything with it. I have been posting on a couple of forums for years. I was with Table Talk, and when they went belly up, I migrated to another forum. With 2016 approaching, and all the scary things blowing out there with it, I decided it is time to get on a more politically oriented forum.

One reason I didn't get terribly involved here is that the posting mechanics are confusing to me. Any tips? Links to tutorials?
