2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAnybody know why I'm receiving unsolicited daily emails thanking me for joining "Team Hillary"?
the messages imply that I joined her campaign. I did not. She does not have my support during the primaries.
I know that unsubscribing is an easy solution to this but I was wondering if anyone here has an explanation as to why they seem to think I am a member of their team all of the sudden.

(46 posts)It is more clear evidence that Clinton took advantage of the breach to steal some Bernie data info.

(6,119 posts)Why would they want to annoy people who don't support them by thanking them for supporting them?

(3,366 posts)I don't do Facebook, Twitter or any of those social media things. Yet I started getting Hillary & DNC emails a few months ago.
I don't have social media but have been getting mail and e-mail from the HRC campaign.

I have used it for BernieSanders.com
In November I started getting emails from the Hillary Clinton campaign.
I figured that DU sold my email address. It did not bother me at all. Now I wonder.

(27,670 posts)they sent me the same email.
I told them in no uncertain terms that I did not join Team Hillary, and to never contact me again, and they stopped.

(36,063 posts)I'm wondering if a union list of employees was shared with her campaign?
Similarly, are you a member of a social organization/veterans group etc that has endorsed her and that might have shared it's membership lists?

(6,119 posts)of them to be sending me messages welcoming me into their team. I am a member of her opposing team and sending me an unsolicited email telling me otherwise is not going to change that.

I retaliated by making a donation to the ACLU in his name.

(3,366 posts)After getting unsolicited emails from her thanking me for my support (!?), I hit the unsubscribe button. It took me to a webpage where a Hillary video started playing automatically, so I was forced to see/hear that while I filled out all the info they needed. After that, I was directed to another page where I got the message that said, in effect, "We'll suspend the emails for a while. We'll check back in with you soon!" After a couple weeks, I started getting them again. I unsubscribed again, and this time they gave up.
I also got unsolicited emails from the DNC.
I have never contributed to the DNC, nor Hillary. I have always avoided both of them like the plague. I was never contacted by either of them until a few months ago. The data breach flap explains it for me!

(4,552 posts)getting emails from the HRC campaign and went thru the long process of unsubscribing.
I have gotten snail mail as well. I usually cross off her donation area of the form and send it back with an explanation.
She is like a bad penny that keeps surfacing.
She will only get my vote in the general if things go bad for my man Bernie.
She does not need, nor will she get my support or my money.
I cant wait to hear the outcome of the DAta breach investigation.

(3,431 posts)I have received three e-mails from the Clinton
campaign,just this week, never before.
If the DNC has your e-mail, you can bet that you
get more from the Clinton campaign. As a matter
of fact that "thank you" guarantees it, imo.

(6,073 posts)This is a common result of signing a petition. It could have been a third party petition and your info was sold. Many e-mail lists are collected and sold. They are gathered from precinct workers on up. A number of campaigns also create lists which are up for grabs when the campaigns fold. I was active in campaigning in prior years and I receive e-mails from almost everyone. I have been unsubscribing from almost every one since I get up to 50 emails every few hours.

(1,784 posts)I gave to the DC once, and then later to John Kerry's campaign directly. I phone banked and contributed to Obama in '08. I still get emails from the DNC, Organizing for America and now HRC'S campaign, which I have nothing to do with.

(16,230 posts)I was taken to a page with an annoying autoplaying video, and given two choices: "Pause emails for 30 days" and "Unsubscribe".
I chose "Unsubscribe". In response I got a page with the following message:
Thanks for letting us know that you'd rather not receive emails for a while -- we'll check in later.
