MTP today - Was it just my imagination????

Frankly, I didn't want to watch.....and I turned off the MTP interview with candidate Robme today.....but later this morning, nothing was on, and so I turned to MSNBC (which replayed the interview that I hadn't wanted to see).....and watched what must have been the last 5 minutes of the MTP interview after all.

So I just want to know, was it just me, or did Gregory not allow Robme to actually answer questions? And it always seemed to come just when it appeared that Robme might give us a specific? Plus, I heard absolutely no follow up common sense questions from Gregory, even though I was asking them to the television, and instead Gregory steered the Robme candidate to other subjects?

Examples:

1. Robme appeared to be about to give 2 specifics to the issue of his policies on the economy.....
as he said, "there are two things that I would do....one is to.....", and just then, Gregory interrupts him to make his own statement, and then asked another question, leaving Robme never to state what he'd do.

2. Gregory never asked Robme the simple question of "how would you do it" when Robme talked about "growing the economy and creating jobs".

3. Gregory never challenged Robme when Robme stated that he would balance the budget by the end of his 2nd term.
I mean......Robme wants to deny Pres. Obama a 2nd term because somehow Obama didn't get everything done that Robme believes he should have, but somehow, it's ok for Robme to say that he, about himself, he would need a 2nd term to get the budget balanced? WTF? Gregory didn't challenge that obvious one either!

In fact, Gregory didn't follow up on much of anything at all!

I came away from the interview that I saw (the last 5 minutes or so) believing that the whole thing had been rehearsed and that the interview was never meant to do anything other than to "repair" Robme's fucked up campaign to date. I especially loved how Gregory said to Robme...."what are the headlines that will be read about this Interview that turned around the election?"(paraphrasing)....like Gregory's show is soooo fucking important!

That interview was a big self serving exercises in an attempt to help Robme! It was soooo obvious to me. Was it to you (if you watched it)?

1. Gregory is a joke...Mittens is the butt end of a bad joke.

Snap out any coma you're in America. There is a lot at stake.

p.s....I just stumbled upon this at the Democrats.org site. http://www.democrats.org/

"Why are you a Democrat?

You can print out a PDF 8.5"x11" piece with, I'm a Democrat because:......and then you can hand write in your reason.

2. I gave up on MTP when Gregory took over

Anyone know what the ratings of the Sunday talks are? Does anyone aside from political junkies watch them?

3. Another interesting phenom was what Gregory suggested about his interview

He kept asking the pundits questions about Romney "based on this interview and the convention," as if he were attempting to bolster Romney, by giving him another shot at TV time without the encumbrance of push back.

Or, he could have been attempting to elevate the importance of his own tv show.

It was odd.

7. Must be that we are supposed to be so stupid not to notice the obvious......

That's why I tend not to watch....because these kinds of Free propaganda for the GOP shows
tend to insult my intelligence.

THe question is why would Gregory not allow Robme to cite the specifics of his economic plan?
Why would anyone conducting an interview with someone that has been accused of not having specifics
interrupt the one time when it appeared that the Robme candidate might finally list some things that the public has been wanting to hear?

And since I didn't see the entire interview, did Gregory ever ask about Millionaire Mitt about releasing his tax returns,
or had he promised in advance that he wouldn't?

To me, it just seems that Gregory must be a Republican. I can't explain that interview any other way!

4. Gregory is incompetent.

He reduces the standing of all journalists. NBC should be ashamed of themselves, giving him what was once the premier news talk show, allowing him to make it a travesty.

13. This needs to happen more.

Any candidate or journalist/reporter needs to be twitter bomb on those issues. I do believe it makes a difference.

8. Gregory is a useless, craven POS.

Panel at the end included Peggy Noonan who should go back home to her chamomile tea and disgraced, discredited Bill Bennett. Total waste of an hour of air-time.

10. Very Disappointing Interview done by David Gregory

THe first 15-20 minutes were almost unbearable to watch. Unfortunately, it was as though David Gregory was gaga over Mitt Romney. All smiles with yada-yada questions that were of little substance. With each question, the answer was a well scripted and more of the same rhetoric about how much he understands the pain people are going through...how he can fix the economy. David Gregory was like a teen getting to interview Justin Bieber. David Gregory, Mitt Romney, & Ann Romney were all cozy in the campaign bus and full of smiles.

The last 10 minutes, Gregory made a few attempts to get Romney to give specifics, but he wasn't very persistent particularly when there were no specifics. It was like, sorry, Mitt, but I'm supposed to ask these questions, but I won't be too pushy. I can see why Mitt allowed an interview with David Gregory when he usually only gives interviews on FOX. It seemed staged to me.

11. David Gregory is a joke

He is SUCH a joke that Twitter had a field day with this hashtag yesterday:

#DavidGregorysToughQuestions

It was hysterical, and when I checked it, getting 20 tweets a minute. It included questions about why David had a brown substance at the end of his nose and whether Rmoney had slept well the night before.

David Gregory is significant only in his own mind at this point. He is BFF's with Karl Rove and Liz Cheney.

16. Many people on Twitter are angry with David Gregory

They are saying it's obvious he is a GOP shill and that he should be replaced. He is no Tim Russert.

I haven't seen the interview yet, but it appears Gregory didn't even ask Mitt why he refuses to release his tax returns.

17. Russert was an R shill

he just was a lot more subtle about - he never got on stage with Rove and made a fool of himself and is not all giddy like a teenage girl with them.

But, he absolutely tended to lay back on Rs while grilling Ds ...

That was his gig.

20. Watch the commercials.

See who sponsors all the Sunday morning talk shows. It's enlightening.
