Clinton, Adding to Jobs Agenda, Proposes New Tax Incentives to Revitalize U.S. Manufacturing
By NH Labor News | December 8, 2015 | Press Release, Sec Hillary Clinton
hillary clinton (WisPolitics.com FLIKR)
As part of her plan to create good-paying jobs for American workers, Hillary Clinton is outlining a strategy to win the race to lead the world in advanced manufacturing. The centerpiece of her announcement is a major new tax credit dubbed the Manufacturing Renaissance Tax Credit to incentivize investment in communities that are at risk of a downward spiral because they have seen manufacturing jobs and production depart.
..................
Clinton is focused on manufacturing because it is a source of higher-paying American jobs, with studies showing it pays between 8 and 20 percent higher than other industries.
Under Clintons manufacturing agenda, communities would be eligible to apply for tax relief after a significant plant closure or round of layoffs in their area. Clintons new tax credit would offer options for relief modeled after the existing New Markets Tax Credit, which one survey found, on average, has supported projects worth $16 million. They could also be eligible for relief for long-term investments, or refurbishing and repurposing facilities.
......................
Clintons agenda extends her long record of fighting to expand manufacturing and boost American jobs. As Senator, Clinton co-founded the bipartisan Senate Manufacturing Caucus, fought Bush Administration efforts to cut support for manufacturing, and called for a New Manhattan Project to rebuild American manufacturing.
A fact sheet on Clintons manufacturing proposals is available here.

Let's repeat the same old fuckups again!
Maybe the outcome will be different this time.

(19,877 posts)Btw, trade supports millions of US jobs and contributes to GDP. We can give manufacturing tax incentives because that's how they pay employees, while at the same time raising tax rates for CEOs because that's how they pay themselves.

(26,549 posts)Hrm...replace billions with a tax credit worth millions. That's TOTALLY going to make up for the loss.
Which has done nothing
And failed
Which didn't happen.
Tell me again how Clinton is super-effective at "getting things done".

(26,549 posts)But that was never in the TPP, and never going to be in the TPP. That decision was made while she was SoS, so suddenly finding this to be a problem is a bit disingenuous.

(26,549 posts)I'd provide you a list, you'll disappear from this thread, and then you'll go back to the same lie in another thread. You've already done it to me three times, and done it to several other posters.
Did you think we were too stupid to notice the pattern?

(5,279 posts)I do not hate Hillary Clinton, she isn't important enough to me to waste my hate. But, every day I find more and more reasons she is not who we need in the Office of President.
When she makes statements/proposals like this, I am very tempted to respond in anger.
If tax incentives worked; then we would have wide open national borders to get enough workers to fill the employments slots caused by forty years of tax incentives.
To see someone who I know is not a fool applying for a job while spouting such nonsense; to be tanking her second interview so horrendously, is infuriating.
To have people I know as good people by nearly every other post from them I have read, not point out the manure that is stepped in other than to gush over the fine texture and glossy finish of that manure, drives me up the wall.

(19,877 posts)Republicans give tax "incentives" to business, but they also give tax cuts to CEOs and the rich. Then they double down with giving tax cuts and loopholes for businesses that ship overseas.
Hillary will give tax incentives for keeping jobs here while raising personal taxes on the rich and end tax breaks for outsourcers. That's the smart approach. Demonizing business at every level like Sanders does will not create jobs.

(13,466 posts)They are still trying to figure out how to pay for that, the only thing they have come up with in a 10 cent gas tax. Which would hurt the poor and middle class most. Meanwhile Boeing is still shipping jobs out of the state.
