2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe Hillary Is Inevitable Argument
really doesn't help Hillary Clinton at all. Americans love underdogs and hate being told that anything has already decided. If my candidate is polling first, the last thing I want to do would be to constantly tout their inevitability, as it turns Americans off, especially undecided ones.
Just sayin'.
That being said, please continue to proclaim loudly to the world that the nomination and presidency of Hillary Clinton is inevitable.

(20,453 posts)For as many times as I see an Op/Ed that parrots the same talking points and makes it so obvious that only one candidate should be talked about...
You'd think with that much influence of everything rolled up and thrown at our front doors and spoken on the same corporately in front of our eyes, that there would be a larger spread.
So, let's keep looking at that, because it's not only the best thing she has going for her leadership skill set, it's the ONLY thing.... including the cute way you can use fonts on DU.

(25,586 posts)Dude, this place trends about 85% pro-Sanders. GDP is an endless barrage of negativity toward Clinton and toward her supporters. Juries regularly reflect the Sanders bias when judging alerts.
Clinton's fans don't need to feel bad about posting links to the polls where she's winning.

Clinton supports are quick to report on anything to go after bernie supporters.

(8,168 posts)I see both sides attacking each other while claiming "it's OK, the other side is worse." It's unsavory, no doubt. And I've seen several messages within jury decisions that say they vote based on their bias, which is indescribably wrong. However, I try not to consider the bias of the site when I post, so what I posted was my opinion without consideration of the current state of this particular site.

(15,438 posts)appear, cheering her on. But you need to understand that that happens among Sanders supporters, as well, and we take it in stride and don't wag fingers at our fellow DUers for doing it.
Also, Hillary Clinton is ONLY "inevitable" in that she's holding up strongly amongst minorities, and Sanders isn't making any inroads there. Without the minority vote, he just cannot win the Democratic Party's nomination. He just can't.
Otherwise, should he say or do something that suddenly has minorities flip from Clinton to him (a la Obama), he will be the inevitable winner of the Democratic nomination, and I, for one, wouldn't begrudge Sanders supporters for cheering him on.
His supporters should better direct their energy toward wooing minorities to support their candidate rather than excoriate Hillary Clinton supporters for being happy that their preferred candidate is doing so well. In the end, I would hope that everyone at DU will support whoever worked hardest to win the Democratic Party's presidential primary.

But if you want to share photos...
Among African-Americans, Hillary Clinton gets 80% support.

Her supporters do not believe she is inevitable. But are pleased and encouraged by the poll numbers.

I hope Sanders wins, but if he doesn't, I hope Clinton goes into the general election as strong as possible, and the Clinton campaign and its supporters who feel obliged to push the coronation theme make me think they can't see past the primary (as if beating Sanders was the goal rather than putting a Democrat in the White House).
