2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumFor all those that claim it's about beating the GOP nominee...
And you think Hillary has a better shot at doing just that....explain what fuckin' difference it makes. She basically is a republican in everything but name. Why should we nominate a person with little room between their positions and the GOP's? In spite of what primary polls say, she is not electable with all her faults.
We couldn't help or unite the enemy any better then a Clinton nomination.
I don't have a favourite candidate at this point, but I know Clinton won't cut it. I want to win as much as anyone here, but how is a choice between two conservatives a victory?

(44,120 posts)when they enter the voting booth. No politician will ever be perfectly aligned with me.
I vote for the person who most closely matches my political postitions. That is why I am caucusing for Bernie.
That being said, none of our candidates are evil.
As to the GOP candidates, their policies are very very destructive to people in the US.
In the debate I watched it seemed our candidates they agreed on more things than they differed on. They have different approaches but they are on the same page. I know who would do the best job.
When we come to the general, our candidate whoever it is will have more constructive policies that the destructive Republican nominee.
I bel
I will vote for the Dem nominee. Because our Dem candidate will more closely match my political postitions.

Hillary is not our enemy. Maybe not our candidate of choice but unless you are a 1 issue voter... Say like anti-wall st, she is undoubtedly a democratic with democratic ideals.
She is wonderful and inspiring for women's issues.
Too conservative for me as I'm left of ghandi but if she's our nominee I'd be proud to have her as our prez.

I call it the "burn down the house" mentality.
Yea let's burn down the whole fucking house because we are all screwed anyway we vote. Then you wake up the next morning to find yourself out in the cold for 8 more years.
Dems to Win
(2,161 posts)I'm a strong Bernie supporter. I don't think Hillary can win, so I try to refute the idea that she's our best chance for victory. I cannot forgive Hillary for her inexcusable vote to authorize the Iraq War, and I definitely worry she wouldn't be too different from the GOP on matters of war and peace, so I'm working hard for Bernie to win the nomination.
But I don't pretend she's no different than a Republican. People currently working for $7.25 an hour will have much better lives if we raise the wage to $12.
Obamacare is far from perfect, but real people will suffer if it's repealed under a Republican president.
On many other issues, Hillary is a better choice than any of the Rs.
The lesser of two evils is still LESSER. Lesser is better than Greater! It's basic math, if you want to express it that way.
