(15,429 posts)They no longer exist. The DLC folded up and closed their doors.
They are no more.
They have gone on to the great beyond.
This is a dead PAC.

(29,798 posts)Just like within the Republican party they hide RW economics behind conservative social issues.
Either way you go, you get RW economics that screw the 99%.
The Bernie Revolution is set to change that formula for the next generation at least. Throw off your shackles.

(11,366 posts)No need to run third rail.
But, some of us are trying to push them out and get the party back on the left rail again.
They're still in existence, but they're known as the DNC now.

(43,867 posts)Decades from now, when 'progressives' are still trying to score their first presidential win, they'll still be blaming the DLC.

(15,429 posts)I consider myself progressive.
This is the radical leftist extremist bogeyman. The Third Way organization which claimed the more moderate wing of the Democratic Party is nowhere near as powerful as the DLC once was and will never hold the kind of sway the DLC once held, thus the radical leftist extremists resort to the tried and true DLC bogeyman, even though that organization no longer exists.

(77,080 posts).... "radical leftist extremist". That sounds like something you'd hear on Bill O'Reilly's show.

The radical extremists refuse to acknowledge what they are on both sides of the spectrum

(46,179 posts)they're all the same, regardless of the label.
DLC. "New Democrats." Third Way. Centrists. The names are legion, but underlying those labels, they are all neo-liberals, and they have taken the party in a "bloodless coup."
We either take it back or leave it, because I don't get in line for nor behind any neo-liberal.

(11,945 posts)People will do whatever they think right. Everyone listens to his/her own conscience. Neither you nor anyone else on DU has any control over that.
But for you to try to bait any of us into breaking the TOS reflects very poorly on you.
I hope you know that.

(16,286 posts)waste of time.
Those who are predisposed, thru privilege mostly, to withhold their votes, will do that, regardless of the damage.
My ONLY reason for MONTHS of calling people out for their "Bernie or the highway" attitude was to try and illustrate for them how selfish and wrong it is.
For my troubles I have had many posts hidden and am on the edge now as we speak.

(11,366 posts)HRC and the Third Way is more of the same. The only difference is the stance on social issues. On economic and foreign policies, the stances aren't all the dissimilar.
A lot of us know this now.
And some of us aren't so privileged.

If there was a pool of libertarians/republicans/independents and 25% democrats supporting Bernie, we would have had a President Ron Paul or President Dennis Kucinich a long time ago.

(11,945 posts)It is absolute TRUTH.
That's why I think the Third Way should start their own political party and return the Democratic Party to those who hold genuinely democratic principles. FDR principles. Pre-Reagan principles.
Bernie Sanders principles.

Google DLC, you'll get nothing related to politics since the DLC is defunct. Third was is some remote organization that's nothing more than a boogie man used to make over-the-top arguments against certain Democrats they disagree with.
