(9,610 posts)Republican party was fractured long ago into the god fearing conservatives and the selfish bastards. Selfish bastards saw the rise of the neo-liberals and decided they had more in common with them than religious nuts, so they jumped ship. Now we have the deal with the shitstains here.

ingrained beliefs that support Bush policies within the Democratic voter base.

The pair did not change positions on votes to renew the legislation in 2005 and 2006.
Sanders voted against a second extension in 2011 as well, three years after Clinton left the Senate for the State Department.
