Republican party was fractured long ago into the god fearing conservatives and the selfish bastards. Selfish bastards saw the rise of the neo-liberals and decided they had more in common with them than religious nuts, so they jumped ship. Now we have the deal with the shitstains here.

I believe many disillusioned service members migrated away from the maniac Bush's Party but continue to harbor
ingrained beliefs that support Bush policies within the Democratic voter base.

the Republican leadership were just as evil.
it all went way south and fundy post Carter.
all turned into WWF style politics eventually.
which seems to me is what WWF intended to permit.

That is why the GOP won on Tuesday. They think that Democrats are not afraid of terrorism and ISIS, and are scared about domestic things.

21. Hillary voted YES on the Patriot Act

I want to hear some of her supporters here on DU defend this.

Clinton and Sanders voted differently on the USA Patriot Act, a 2001 bill designed to combat terrorism, in part by granting broad surveillance powers to the National Security Agency. In her first year as a senator, Clinton voted in favor of the bill, while Sanders, by that time a 10-year veteran of the House, voted against it.

The pair did not change positions on votes to renew the legislation in 2005 and 2006.

Sanders voted against a second extension in 2011 as well, three years after Clinton left the Senate for the State Department.
