Do not be naive about how electronic voting is corrupted/rigged by the Republicans already.

Electronic voting with it's secretive, undisclosed programming; no paper trail; capability to switch DNS entries to other computers; intentional programming to push certain vote totals to specific candidates........is ripe to be easily. intentionally compromised.
Ask anyone who works with distributed servers and programming. (i.e. servers can be easily switched to other sites.....as the Ohio Secretary of State's computers were switched to Chattanooga RNC site in 2004, and back in a few hours with the totals flipped...from Kerry to Bush)
This area is NOT somthing these billionaires will not leave to chance. I firmly believe the fix is in already.. All the nonsense of the campaigning/speeches/press coverage/controversial speech is all superfluous - a diversion.......the computers/programming will "elect" the president nefariously.

1. I disagree more people will be watching for election mischief on behalf of the repubs

The whole world is watching. 2000/004 was a wake up call that the GOP will use everything to cheat. But we are watching and 2000/04 has not been forgotten. The people are waking up. You think all the voter suppression is making people aware they are trying to fix the election to rmoney? He is such a phoney and out of touch with the working class. Truth will prevail.

I bet the GOP or Bain Capital own the voting machine equipi or software. The UN should govern the management of this election.

The UN isn't going to come here and do shit.

The meme that the UN needs to come here to monitor the elections is bait.

Pure and simple.

Why would they care if ours are rigged? The UN will get our funding either way.

That and we must be ready to challenge every result that even smells funny. Make them Prove the results. What "no papers"? How about that. Voters must have the proper paperwork, but not the voting machines?

7. The DEM Party Apparatus has never been concerned w/black box voting:

Even after 2000. Me thinks they know the game's rigged, and they don't want US to know what a fraud voting is. For all intents and purposes, the "Democrats" appear to be owned by the 1%, too. All IMO, of course.

9. As a resident of a State with zero 'electronic voting machines' where all of us get paper

ballots I always look to see what State posters are from when they start in on the 'fix is in' silliness. Such poster never list a State in their profile.
I will assume, OP that your state's residents have not stepped up to make better elections law, to make more secure processes. I wonder why that is? Each State is responsible for it's own elections. What have you done in your own State to address the problems you have with elections?

11. I filed an election complaint in my Town when I witnessed a recount for a less than 20 vote margin
Sun Aug 26, 2012, 10:04 AM

turn into 5 recounts that I went to the Town Hall to observe.....each recounts result was sworn, at the time, to be 'official' and sent to State.....then we learned of another day/another recount. there were more envelopes of ballots found in mismarked envelopes in the safe. There were teams of people recounting ballots....but then they took the adding machine and results into a side room to tally them and come out with their announcements. They redid more 'found' ballots four more times....last one the Tuesday after the election. 2006 local elections.

My friend, who was running for office, heard the recount of the last 'found' envelope and heard her own name announced 41 times and marked it on her notes. They came out of the back-room counting, listed #'s and hers was read as 19. She challenged that from knowing what she'd heard. They went back in the room and apparently re-adjusted all the numbers becauee they came back and her new official # was 41....and she won the Town Council position.

The 3 people responsible for the election were either relieved of their duties or personally fined.
There were three people at each table 'rereading and recording' each ballot, reading aloud..... from what I overheard for repeat patterns of two names, there was ballot stuffing going on.

We have Diebold, with marking paper ballots, to be scanned in. The absentee and some misread ballots were mis-handled, not scanned and labeled wrong.......and I believe extra ballots were fed in.

10. Some observations.

This sort of election theft depends on one thing which cannot yet be easily rigged: polling has to be within the margin of error for Republicans to easily steal it. Their problem is further complicated because Republicans now have a monetary incentive to not vote at all, because if they lose, their taxes stay low.

Because polling can and will be double-checked by multiple entities in the weeks leading up to the election, and even push-pollsters like Rassmussen have to stop pushing in order to get the day-before prediction on the books, it means that in any state where President Obama is clearly in the lead cannot be easily stolen.

Now ask yourself what would happen if inside-the-margin election theft has been a regular occurrence over the past twelve years, but suddenly there are too few elections inside the margin to safely steal.

What do you do then? The smart play would be to call off the whole thing and hide, because if any fool does try to change a result outside of the MOE it will be instantly noticed, investigated, and unraveled straight back to Wall Street's door, and everything is lost in an already losing effort.

When the house is broke, the only thing the casino can do is surrender the vig while they rebuild their bank. I think that is what the GOP will have to do this time.

I think what that is going to mean is an unexpected extra 20-50 EVs for President Obama, few rigged Senate elections, and a flipping of the House.

That is not to say that smaller groups within the GOP, and individual candidates within it, will not attempt to steal their own smaller elections. But we have a much better chance of seeing those as well, which means we have an excellent chance of catching them this time.

Also keep in mind that Mitt Romney's true expertise is in stealing decisions from the people and awarding them to his own people. At this stage of his abysmal campaign, that has to be the last card up his sleeve. This is his last chance at the White House (because this campaign has already ruined future chances), and if his tax problems break the way I think they will, winning the election may be the only way for Mitt Romney to stay out of Club Fed. So Mitt might just be unscrupulous enough to try it anyway.

President Obama has been angling for the total destruction of the GOP for 18 months now. I will be truly astounded if I learn he failed to recognize this dynamic and failed to be lying in wait for his opponents to try their usual tricks. He wants them to try.

This theory produces a prediction, which should be able to be checked after election day, and here it is:

Republican pickups in the Senate will be confined to only those states that are leaning heavily in Mitt Romney's favor, because those are the only states left in which electronic vote-rigging is feasible.

Right now the only states that fit that bill are Nebraska, Montana, and North Dakota. You Bob Kerrey folks should take notice right now. This is your one chance to bust 'em back to the stone age from which they have intellectually failed to emerge.
