By Katie Zezima October 8 at 7:18 PM
A group has pulled an ad urging Vice President Biden to run for president after a report that Biden objected to the spot.
According to Los Angeles Times, Biden hoped a super PAC unaffiliated with the vice president would not run an advertisement that uses his personal story to encourage him to run for president.
The ad, titled "Redemption," shows Biden's career in Washington, starting with a December 1972 car crash that killed his wife and daughter and left his sons badly injured and hospitalized for months.
"By focusing on my sons, I found my redemption," the ad says. Biden said that in a Class Day speech at Yale University in May. Unbeknownst to the public, Biden's son, Beau, was dying of brain cancer. He passed away less than two weeks later and, after a mourning period, Biden has spent the last two months considering running for president.

"Joe, run," the ad ends.
According to Los Angeles Times, Biden felt the ad "treads on sacred ground."

(84,711 posts)OTOH...I can see why he just might be covering waiting to see the reaction in the polls. I don't watch much Cable but it's been mentioned or shown about 5 times today, alone.
I have no idea how much it was shown for higher Cable or Network Viewers than I am.
It's a little OTT starting out with the "Frosty Scene." Sad..... Don't see it working as an Upbeat Campaign Starter message for Joe.

The ad, which I did not seem sounds like an attempt to emotionally manipulate the public.
I find it disgusting to use tragedy to try to get a sympathy vote. My brother lost two children, I can't imagine using that to try to get ANY job.
Is he qualified for the job or not, that is all that should matter especially for a job that will affect the lives of so many people.
