Related: About this forumVirginia’s Goode could be Romney’s undoing
While many on the right fear that Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode might just draw enough votes in his native Virginia to tip the Old Dominions 14 electoral votes from Mitt Romney to Barack Obama, the former six-term congressman made it clear he doesnt care.
Goode, in fact, feels that in many ways, for conservatives, it might be better to have Obama as president next year rather than Romney.

(40,416 posts)The Constitution party is seriously wacko.
But VA has their share, like many places.
If they are getting the willies about Mitt, he's doomed.
Craziness continues this election cycle. I need to get drunk, or get a baseball bat to hit myself of the head. Maybe a nice glass of wine or a Martini.

They've just treated us like a friend and like a coalition," Jesse Benton, a spokesman for the Paul campaign, tells USA Today. "They have been honest brokers in working with us and treated us with respect."
Even if the congressman cant get a full time slot to speak at the RNC, the GOP is giving him access to the University of South Floridas Sun Dome, a decision that both sides say they were able to agree on mutually.
"We have worked closely with Congressman Paul to secure a location for this event," Kyle Downey, a spokesman for the GOP convention, adds to USA Today. Only one month earlier, RNC spokesman James Davis told the Associated Press that the GOP had received the Paul campaigns request for a venue but was making those assignments on a rolling basis." At the time, the Paul campaign complained that delays on part of the RNC put PaulFest in jeopardy.
"Our success brings us some clout," Jesse Benton says of the campaigns victory.

(53,061 posts)I wonder what will happen when some of that enthusiasm seeps back in among the thousands of Paul delegates who after all, don't like authority in principle.
At the very least I expect that there will be a raucus negative noise when they try to make it unanimous.
Ron Paul still not endorsing Romney

and maybe they will realize they are being co-opted by the GOP like the religious right was for 30 years before they took over the GOP as the Tea Party
anything to get those Paulites riled up and vote Goode or Johnson or even Obama because the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
